This is a series of small scale and personable firearms classes that is geared toward families, couples and singles that have little or no experience with gun culture. Unlike most of our other meetups we will be limiting the group size to 12 people total for each session. Each session will be made up of the same basic information. In a quiet classroom setting we will teach basics for about and hour and then for the following two hours we will go into the range and shoot each of the weapons that have been presented to the class.

This is a basic summary of what each class will consist of :

* The Power of " No. " - Survival Psychology in relation to the use of firearms

* Gun safety practices - what to do and what not to do when handling firearms to prevent unintended injury and death.

* Gun law in  Pa, NJ,and De - sorting facts from rumors, looking at federal laws now and later

* Exploring different weapon platforms - Pistols (revolvers/semiautos) , Rifles ( bolt action/semiauto), Shotguns ( long & short )

* Understanding ammunition - strengths and weaknesses of various calibers and powder packs, the amazing selection of shotgun ammo to be found

* Proper footing, posture, hand and eye placement for good shooting results

* How to acquire proper sight alignment and hit what you aim for

* Dealing with weapon jambs on semi autos for rifles and pistols

* How to clear and sweep rooms of predators and the best ways to employ a flashlight with a gun

Then we will go into the range and get in a good couple hours of practice with the weapons demonstrated. Eye and ear protection will be provided, ammunition and targets as well. Hands on instruction will be ever present.

We will provide a variety of firearms that are suited for every age, body type and capability.

The weapons and instructors are donated to you for free out of a simple love and respect for humanity. The range, ammo, targets and eye/ear protection will cost each participant $40.00 in Federal Reserve Notes which is due at the beginning of each class offered.

Children of and age and ability to PAY ATTENTION AND TAKE THE SUBJECT SERIOUSLY are welcome and in fact are at the core of our planning efforts. Ages 8 and up are our preferred student ages. All of our instructors are seasoned parents and/or well suited to deal patiently with beginners.

The RSVP list will be taken very seriously here. If you are on the primary list but find that you cannot attend then PLEASE CHANGE YOUR STATUS IMMEDIATELY SO THAT THOSE ON THE WAITING LIST MAY ATTEND. Those in the front waiting list should take the personal responsibility of checking the list in the days and hours prior to the event so that we may all use the donated time and effort efficiently. Also to that end - please arrive on time.

This will be a fun and friendly event that will soberly deal with deadly serious subject matter.

This meet up was well planned and very well organized by Fernando and Gerry H. We learned about many different types of firearms and ammo, also the laws pertaining to the use of all. We all had a chance to use the range and fire many different types on site. This was an excellent chance for one to become familiar with firearm culture. I would highly recommend this meet up. Thank you for your time and effort Fernando and Gerry ! Much appreciated.

I am a Viet Nam veteran and I haven't handled a weapon in over forty years. It was refreshing to re-familiarize with proper weapon handling and safety. I would recommend this training to anyone who may be skittish about handling guns.

I am a stay-at-home mom who knows it is dangerous to try to get between a mother and her children. I thank Fernando and members of this meetup group for giving me the information to choose the best tools I might need to protect my family and myself. My hope is that I will never have to use any of them. Thank you again, Fernando.

BIG bang for the buck! (sorry about the pun) but I would have had to pay $100 and wait until June to do a beginner's course at a DIFFERENT regional store/range. Today was awesome. The instruction was comprehensive, professional and the half-day flew by. I came away feeling really comfortable and knowledgeable about a range of firearms. I learned to load and fire 2 revolvers, 2 semi-auto pistols, 2 shotguns and 2 rifles. basic gun safety, philosophy of use and gun laws were were well covered. Added Bonus: It was FUN! All the people I met today were really cool, helpful and warm. When I attended a DIFFERENT gun club meeting a few years ago the atmosphere was unnecessarily dry and stiff with no shortage of egos. Fernando's group managed this serious learning with lightness and humor. This exceeded all my expectations...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
