I see humanity's over extension & stripping of the Earth's resources without a plan to nurture & care for the land in return. I see most political and other organizations be twisted by human fault, greed, and carelessness with an absence of love or sympathy for others on this planet. What threatens us most in the city is the wealthy hoarding the resources and leaving the poor to unchecked devices. I feel we are pummelling toward a collapse that 90% of the population will feel, while the rest hide in their towers. What threatens us is how civilization has enticed us away from nature to a point where the mass population is completely dependent on an unsustainable food and health system and if there is a collapse, or if one needs to get off the grid, they don't know how to survive.
I am interested in learning wild edibles and practicing it so I don't just intellectualize it. I'm really bummed I can't make it to this Sunday's walk. Same with trapping, starting fires, and basic wilderness survival. That would be my ideal survival landscape. In reality, I also should know survival tactics for city dwellers. I don't know anything about that.
Hi my name is Meg Lemieur.
