Hello Thrivers,

This is a call for help.

Our longterm relationship with the space formally known as Liberties has run its course. After five and a half years, we have outgrown the small space. Right now we need to find other options for our indoor meetings.

Please see if you may know of a suitable space for us to hold S&T meet ups. Here is a list of needs and wants for the space as well as the benefits for those hosting us:

Must be respectful of the Natural Law of the Bill of Rights in the US Constitution.

Must be FREE to us. We never solicit donations. All of our effort is 100% volunteer and we keep the group accessible to the least among us.

Must hold 60-80 people. More would be great.

Must have respectable restrooms.

Must offer heat in Winter and cool air in the Summer.

Must be reliably available on Sunday afternoons, usually the last one of each month but there is flexibility with our schedule setting.

Should be relatively private/quiet space.

Should be reasonably accessible by SEPTA.

Should not require metered parking for those who drive there.

Should serve food and drink.

Should be operated by good people that are easy to work with.

Goodwill toward their fellow humans. Survive and Thrive Philadelphia has a five and a half year track record of service to people of all backgrounds. With almost a thousand members, we empower the average thinking person to be more self reliant and we give the well seasoned members a way to pass their knowledge forward. Self ownership, self determination and personal liberty are always at the very heart of this diverse, family friendly group. Whole families, widows, single parents, couples, explorative young singles, we draw a wide swath of people.

Steady , reliable food and bar tabs that total from a few to several hundred dollars for each meeting in a time slot that is usually slow for many businesses.

Attendees are encouraged to be grateful for the establishment and to be gracious in leaving gratuities for the servers. Happy servers are good for business. We are always easy going and low maintenance , respectful and we clean up after ourselves.

Word of mouth advertising among a wide range of social and economic circles .
Doctors, nurses, teachers, firefighters, patriots, gardeners. Free advertising via several different media sites.

So, please try to help. Talk to friends and family. Reach out to a business. Pass along a recommendation to us even you think it's a long shot. We have over a dozen meet ups to run indoors in the coming months but currently no space to hold them.

Feel free to pass along contact info for this purpose :

Adverse Possession anyone?
Improbable but not impossible, is there a suitable distressed property to make into an HQ? I know nothing about rehabs/adverse possession except what the real estate book tells me, but 50 cents says someone on your little list of 1K is somebody who's done it, or is a broker/attorney/etc. Maybe we could co-op on insurance/overhead and have a little clubhouse w/urban garden or range. . .Don't rule out Camden or Gloucester City, NJ, or other surrounding neighborhoods. . .just a thought!

OK, one last word: Perhaps someone is looking to make a respectable small side biz. Even if the group, as a group, is not looking to make this investment, perhaps there are people on the list who would consider partnering to make this happen as a don't-quit-your-dayjob-yet modest-profit kind of opportunity. If so, kindly consider involving me, as I am looking for XP. Thanks, HC
