As I was listening to the speakers, it occurred to me that some developers or entrepreneurs may not have access to any real data much less big data. I'd like to offer myself as a resource to anyone interested in doing outcome analyses on a year and a half worth of data from a 220-bed hospital EMR system in rural Kenya. We are working with a cardiologist here in the Bay Area to do "outcome" work. We are also developing interfaces for the CDC to access HIV data for the facility.

It was very interesting, though some of it went by too quickly to comprehend. I would have preferred a little more depth and a little less breadth, and a little slower on the slide-clicker. But it was still very interesting, very relevant, and the speakers were all good.

referralMD is a web/mobile application that offers a comprehensive business management solution designed to track and help monetize healthcare referrals.

Similar in structure to a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program, referralMD manages healthcare referral network exchanges, economic and new business development efforts. It’s an application to specifically track referral sources, collaboration opportunities, follow-up activity and measure localized network growth.

Specialists (hospitals, imaging centers, laboratories), dentists, primary care doctors and other healthcare professionals, utilize the tools for tracking and measuring their network referral activity, business development efforts and collaborative projects. Integrated reporting tools provide network-to-business development proof of conversion – valuable for new healthcare facilities and retention campaigns.

In order to create a different model ,you need to change your thought's not about utilizing technology for innovative ways to measure different vital signs...the challenge is to evolve cognitive thought to magnify the outcomes. The goal is to create health rather than diagnosis a disease process.Just think if the airline industry utilized the chronic care model....So why do we tolerate the status quo...because it's become intrinsc and accepted ....this needs to change....this will enhance life , and change the entire industry. A new era lies before us. are you in ? I will post the beta site in the next week or two. Thanks!
