American Swedish Institute Annual Lutefisk Dinner 2nd Shift 5:30 to 8:30

The American Swedish Institute is a cultural center and museum that is committed to preserving the Turnblad residence built[masked] and which is on the National Register of Historic Places; preserving a collection of Swedish-American heritage artifacts; interpreting the story of immigration; sharing Swedish cultural and aesthetic traditions with the broader community; and enhancing cultural relationships with modern Sweden. The ASI's annual Lutfisk Dinner serves 175 guests at each of 3 seatings and volunteers are invited to enjoy the buffet (not just lutfisk) during their shift. Volunteers on the early shift will help clean off tables, wash dishes, and set up tables for the next seating, and those on the later shift will help clean off tables, wash dishes, and put them away. Please note that this does require some heavy work in the dish room.

A great event. It was fun to meet other volunteers. My first time trying Lutefisk, and I liked it.

My first volunteer activity with this group. Enjoyed both the work and the opportunity to meet fellow SVTC folks while working and enjoying a nice meal. I hope we'll have other opportunities to work at the Swedish Institute.
