This is a very exciting event. The Salvation Army is teaming up with KaBOOM to build a new playground for children in ONE day. :) They still need 100 volunteers (a total of 200 volunteers will be on site). KIDS welcome.

There are 12 different opportunities from concrete, planting laying pavers, painting etc., there will an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities. Note that kids and parents will be separated doing different jobs. Kids 2 years old and up are welcome.

Meeting at 7:45am SHARP at Salvation Army Lakewood Temple at 2080 Woodlyn Avenue in Maplewood, MN (1 block from Maplewood Mall). This is directly behind the Party City store.

Time is: 8:00am - 2:30pm. Breakfast, lunch and hydration will be provided.

Jennie, the volunteer coordinator with Salvation Army (my contact) will be there to assist. When you get there, find her and she will point you in the direction of our host, John L (from meetup).

This is what you will be doing from the link above:

"KaBOOM! Playground Build - Playground Builder Every child should have a fun, safe place to play, even when they visit The Salvation Army. That is why we are working in partnership with KaBOOM! and Foresters to build a new playground at our Maplewood location. This is a one day build to complete the playground. There are jobs for people of all ages and abilities. Meals will be provided for volunteers. We are looking for 150 volunteers to assist on build day. The build will take place rain or shine."

We are also cross posting in the Out & About in St. Paul meetup group.

**Please note that if you sign up, it's your responsibility to locate John L, our meetup event host by way of Jennie - the Salvation Army Volunteer Coordinator. Thank you**
