What is Single Volunteers? www.svtconline.org
Single Volunteers is a national non-profit organization based in Washington, DC. (Visit the national website at http://singlevolunteers.org/).
What is Single Volunteers of the Twin Cities (SVTC)?
Single Volunteers of the Twin Cities (SVTC) is a group of busy and energetic Twin Cities' singles who enjoy making a difference for our communities and meeting new single friends.
SVTC acts as a sort of volunteer clearing house, providing non-profit agencies with volunteers, and providing volunteers with a convenient, fun, efficient way to volunteer.
SVTC is not a dating or matchmaking service.
How is SVTC different from other Meetups?
We are Minnesota Incorporated 501(c)3 NON PROFIT organization. We guarantee volunteers to our non-profit customers which gives us access to events other groups do not get. Therefore, we do have an attendance policy and expect our members to not cancel out of events at the last minute. We also rely on our volunteers to fill-up events as events with low turn outs can lose us our special status with some customers.
What does it cost to join SVTC?
SVTC membership is free.
What about leadership positions in SVTC?
Members are not required to be leaders or committee members. Nonetheless, we offer opportunities for members to become involved in the leadership and daily operation of SVTC.
We are always looking for members to act as volunteer event hosts and volunteer event organizers who communicate directly with the non-profit organizations we serve.
Interested members are invited to attend and participate in General membership meetings and meetings of the SVTC Board of Directors. Those interested in helping run the organization can contact any board member about needed roles.
