George Hou is Vice President of Handset Division, ZTE Corporation. His responsibility is to develop partnership in Internet industry and promote ZTE brand. He also takes charge of several subsidiaries of ZTE Corporation, such as ZTE Mobile Telecom Co. Ltd., ZTE Joygor and ZTE WeLink.

Mr. Hou joined ZTE group in 1990s. He has taken various leadership roles in the areas of sales, marketing, product development and management. He has made significant contributions to ZTE’s rapid growth in its journey of becoming one of the global leaders in telecom industry.

In 2002 ZTE Mobile Telecom was found to address the emerging mobile telecom market needs. Mr. Hou, one of the founders, was named President of the company. With his successful experience from ZTE group, continuous innovation and solid technical education background, he has successfully grown ZTEMT from nothing to a global company with $600 million revenue in 2012 from worldwide customers. Seizing the trend of mobile industry and through his visionary advocacy, Mr. Hou has started two companies, ZTE Joygor and ZTE WeLink, to address the mobile internet and M2M needs. As the chairman of the two companies, he has successfully directed the companies’ business to become healthy and profitable.

Mr. Hou received his Bachelor’s degree from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, which is the number one university in telecom in China.
