I want to thank everyone for their insightful tips, pointers, & critiques. I especially want to thank you, Linda, for putting in your time and letting us benefit from your wisdom.

Hey, Karla. How does Weight Watchers work exactly? Do they send you food? Or are they simply a support group?

Weight Watchers works on a points system. Every food has a Points Plus value. For instance, a slice of bread might be two points; a piece of fish might be three points. Depending on your weight, you're given a certain number of points per day, which you don't exceed. (You're also given 49 extra points per week for those days you DO go over.) WW does NOT send food--you buy your own. The meetings allow you to get together with others who are on the same journey. You weigh in every week (no one knows your weight but you; it's private) so you can see just how well you're doing.

I am sorry, but I will not attend. I fell on my face last weekend and don't want to go out blooking like this. Next time.

I feel very sad about this because as much as I would love to attend, meetings fall during my work day. Are there ever other writing events on weekday nights, or on weekends? Doesn't have to be for critique; would be wonderful to even get together for writing time. I'm currently at work on a literary, sci-fi novel.
