- To foster--among local photographers of all levels of experience--a greater understanding of small off-camera flash, to demystify their use, and how to use them to create better, and more unique, images. - To meet other photographers and lighting enthusiasts in the area. - To enjoy the camaraderie of like minded creative people.
My best times are typically evenings, though I am certainly open to weekend days. I do still travel widely from time to time, so can't say with any certainty that there will be regularly scheduled meetups every month of the year, though I will do my best to provide a variety of times and days to accommodate those who may not have been able to attend a previous meetup.
I've been trying to make pretty images of one sort or another with cameras since before the days of Polaroid Land Cameras with the back that opened and the print you peeled out and watched develop. I have been entranced ever since with the intriguing possibilities of being able to capture in creative ways that which I see as I stumble through life.
Nikon cameras, lenses, and Speedlights and would probably bring those, as well as various light mods and stands etc. Depends on the goal for the meeting, but I have a bunch of stuff.
I started the group.
I've been a national traveling photographer, usually on the road 50 weeks a year, but have recently set up a new studio in SW Ohio. I have a bunch of Speedlights, light modifiers, PWs, stands and booms, backdrops, and a mess of other related tools.
I think the group has tremendous potential. I hope others take up the reins as well and take charge of some of the group activities, board challenges, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing this group evolve and prosper.
