WWII battleship USS Iowa tour followed by lunch in San Pedro Harbor

Come visit a BIG part of U.S. History - a complete tour of the World War II battleship, the USS Iowa. There are several tours we can choose from once we get there. A link to the descriptions of each can be found here below; Tour Alpha is our prime target.

Tickets are $18 for adults and can be purchased online (see link below) or at the exhibit the day of it.

This amazing vessel has been in more conflicts over a 50 year period than any other battleship of it's class, including serving in the Middle East in 1991. This beauty has all the options; massive 16" main guns, advanced control systems, crew quarters, helicopter pad, a museum on board and so much more it can't be listed.

Please join us for this fantastic voyage - at Pier 59, just at the St. Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, most of us are only 20 minutes away of not closer. Just follow the USS IOWA signs on the I-110 South freeway. Parking is right there for $1 per hour. We expect the tour to last approximately 2 hours.

We'll be getting together for lunch afterwards, and we will decide which of many local establishments to blast into right after the tour. Suggestions for nearby grub in San Pedro are encouraged.

I'll email my cell phone number to those who RSVP "YES" the day before the event starts.

We want to thank our SYNERGY member Linda for suggesting this event!

No need to RSVP "NO" to this event - we only need to know who's going with us.

This turned out to be one of the nicest events we've had. An absolutely elegantly maintained USN battlewagon, a tour of many features of it, and some terrific US history to boot. Lunch afterwards was full of brisk conversation on a number of topics, with dynamite fish and chips at Whale and Ale in San Pedro. Those of you who missed this event, really missed something special!

There's been a couple of suggestions for lunch:

San Pedro Brewing Company. It is on 6th Street in San Pedro. URL is below. It is very casual and inexpensive.

There is also an English pub called the Whale and Ale. It opens at 1:00 PM on Sunday. It is on 7th Street. For the English pub vibe—good fish and chips. Here is the URL for that…
