Let's go to LAUNCH Music Festival!

So, the line-up for Launch Sacramento looks pretty amazing this year: Girl Talk (super fun mash-up dj . . . kinda cheesy, but definitely a good time), Imagine Dragons, Minus the Bear, The Cults, Washed Out, Geographer, St. Lucia, Van She, Gold Fields, Blonde Redhead, and many, many more. It will be held over the weekend of September 7th and 8th in Cesar Chavez Plaza in Midtown Sacramento.

With the line-up looking pretty great and it being held in relatively small Cesar Chavez Plaza, this festival will probably sell out. (So, buy your tickets early.) You can buy either single-day tickets for $55 or weekend passes for $85. I think I'm going to go for the full weekend pass. Friends might join me on Sunday with single-day tickets, but I think I wanna dance my booty off on Saturday, too.

Here are some clips if you're not familiar with the bands/acts:

Maybe we can all meet for brunch/lunch before the festival, or meet-up the Friday night before to get to know each other a bit.

So nice meeting you, Kellie and Ashley, and way-too-briefly, Christine! Wish we could have met up with everybody else, but hopefully another time :-)

Ok, so not many people chimed in on how to actually meet-up. So, how about we say that anyone who would like to meet-up pre-festival can meet at Temple Coffee at the corner of J and 9th [masked]th St) at 2:30pm. Then, we can grab some food at the Launch food trucks or somewhere nearby. Otherwise, maybe a second meet-up opportunity around 5pm by the box office?? If anyone wants that. My cell is:[masked]-9524. If anyone just wants to text and we'll find each other. I'd really like to meet up with you ladies, so hopefully I'll see some of you at Temple at 2:30 or just text me :-)

I'm in the same boat Ashley. Heading out soon. Any tips on parking?

I parked in a garage near J and 10th. It was a $5 flat fee.

Trisha, your plan sounds perfect! I got the weekend pass too and am not too particular about who we see on Saturday, just so long as wesee Girl Talk ;) Lunch around 3 works well and black birdsounds yummy.

Hi all!!! Glad to see we have a nice little group going! Now comes the difficult part of arranging actually MEETING UP at/before the festival. Did everyone get weekend passes? Or, going on Saturday? How early is everyone wanting to get into the festival ground on Saturday? Personally, I was thinking about going to get my wristband around 1pm and checking out Doombird at 1:20. But, between the end of their set and 5:05pm (Gold Fields set), there's no one I'm particularly interested in. Sooooo, I was thinking about walking out, and grabbing a bite/coffee around 2:30 or 3pm. Does that sound good as a meetup option to anyone else? I'm not terribly familiar with the area around Cesar Chavez Park, but Grange, Pizza Rock, Pyramid, Blackbird, Temple Coffee, and some other spots might be good for meeting up and getting to know each other a bit before we go into the festival.

I'm open to ALL suggestions! What do you ladies think?

Yeah, I think the weekend pass is a much better deal. It gets you in/out privileges and free entry into a bunch of after parties on both Sat and Sun night.

I'm RSVPing yes for now. Kinda confirmed for a camping trip but this seems way cooler so I may have to rethink the camping thing

Heads up for anybody who might be considering going and is a STUDENT . . . This weekend only, Launch is selling a small batch of discounted weekend passes for students for only $60. Pretty Rad. Go here: http://launch.queueapp.com/events/241/products

How are they confirming enrollment? ID only...?

      August 16, 2013

    • Trisha

I think so. It said you had to show a valid student ID at the box office to pick up your ticket, and if it's not valid, they up-charge you to the regular weekend pass rate.

In an absolutely insane and exciting twist, I entered a Facebook contest to name the two stages at Launch and WON . . . Free passes and stage-naming rights! Pretty cool :-)

We'll see how many people join in and maybe meet-up for lunch/coffee/gelato(!) on Saturday before going into the festival grounds.... Work for you?

Sounds perfect! As it gets closer, we can finalize a place and time.
