Boat-in Camping at Lake Clementine!

Let's take our kayaks, canoes or whatever kind of boat you have and camping at Lake Clementine!

My son and I went last year with a Sacramento Hikers and Kids and had a great time. I would love to do this trip again. If you are interested go to http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/Auburn_Sra_Boat_In/r/campsiteSearch.do?site=all&type=9&minimal=no&search=site&criteria=new&contractCode=CA&parkId=120007&search=site

For this camping trip you must book your own site. Currently the campground is full. Each site will hold 8 people, so you can share with another family if they aren't already sharing their site.

Lake Clementine is a little bit of paradise just minutes out of the town of Auburn. If you are rowing, it's a easy 3 mile trip. Hope you and your family can make it!

Thank you Heidi! How much will I owe you for sharing a campsite?
Do you have a map showing where everyone will be camping since I may be late?

Thanks Terri! Heidi offered the same so I guess we can decide sometime tomorrow:)

I borrowed a canoe for this trip as its less hassle than trying to do two rafts. I just got home because my friend failed to mention it was full of wet leaves:) If I like it I may buy it cheap cheap...we will see.
It was dark but it looks kinda burnt orange/brownish so watch for us.

I have an extra inflatable kayak if somebody wants to use it. Call me before I leave and let me know. (916)[masked]

My 8yo son and I will be attending. I can't pick him up until 9-9:30 in Folsom, then drive to Auburn, inflate, load raft etc...so we will be late.

Due to the heatwave, we are meeting up at 10. Let me know if you can't make it that early.

Two quick questions, can my son and I make it in a raft? I know it will take awhile but that's cool. Also does anyone have room to share a site??? We just need a little room for a single two/3person tent??? Pppplease:)

    May 31, 2013

    • Heidi

Yes you can make it on a raft. It will just take a little longer. Most of the group have inflatable kayaks and they also don't go as fast as regular kayaks. Don't worry we'll al get there. You are welcome to camp on my site.

Hi Brian, we are also taking a raft in tow. We have room at our site if you'd like to share the cost? I paid $48 for the site.... want to split it? If so stop on over at Site No. 5. :-)

    Location - Directions
Lake Clementine is located off the Auburn-Foresthill Road, approximately two miles from Auburn. From I-80 in Auburn, exit at Foresthill, drive 2.5 miles on Foresthill Road, turn left onto Lake Clementine Road, and then follow Lake Clementine Road 2 miles down to the boat dock. Lake Clementine Road is narrow, and you may encounter vehicles towing boats on trailers, and bicyclists on the road. Please use caution and observe the 15 mph speed limit.

    May 25, 2013

    • Heidi

Did you book a site already? We might have a few spots available. I check with my other group going.

      May 29, 2013

Yes, I did book a spot... darn, wish I had waited... $46 was pricey I thought. We're used to a $7 overnight back country permit for backpacking!!!!!

All campsites are full! If you did not book a site or are not sharing a site with another family, then you won't be able to so on this camping trip. Each site can hold 8 people. Does anybody still have room one their site?

It's about 2.5 miles on a calm lake. I rowed it by myself last year, because my 8 year old wasn't any help. It's easy!

I haven't pay for my campsite yet...but I was wondering how far it was to paddle my kayak from the boat launch to the campsite. I have a lot to haul and I understand you have to get to the site by boat. So how far? Also, is there is boat launch and place to park your car?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
