I found the perfect camping location for us at Union Valley Reservior. Located only 65 miles Northeast of Sacramento. Description:
Fashoda Campground is located on the east side of Union Valley Reservoir, all the sites are tent camping, walk-in sites only. This area has lots of forest wildlife and is one of the top trout fishing destinations for northern California. I've reserved 3 campsites all next to each other with a max of 18 people and 6 cars. Depending on how many people we get signed up, the cost should be around $9-10 per person for a two nights stay. They do have a couple more site that I could book if we get enough interested.

There are plenty of fun activities to do in the area, hiking, biking; fishing and swimming are all available. There is also a restaurant and a convenience store located near the campground. Services & Amenities:

Thank you Heidi! This wouldn't have happened without you. Great place to camp and the boys had quite the experience hiking to the top of the falls!!

Hi -- I need to switch with one of the dessert folks if at all possible, because I'd already bought stuff for brownies. I can bring some rolls if that would help. Sorry, I need to shop the weekend before or it doesn't happen!

We're planning on coming tomorrow night, but we'll be there late -- probably not until 9 or 10:00.

Actually Paula, I think our potluck is Saturday night because of the varying time people will arive Friday night. BUT, we could get a potluck discussion going on the Friday night camping group and go crash theirs!!!!! ;p ;p

Sure Heidi! Both my friend and I have those things, and since we will be together, we wont be needing double! Make sure we set up camp together and we will set everything out to be used! Sound good?

Does anybody have a camping stove or lanterns I could borrow? I have a couple tents I can lend out.

I think we probably won't be able to make it on Friday night, since we'll have to pack the car after we get home from work -- but we'll be to the campground early on Saturday morning, in plenty of time for the Bassi Falls hike!

I still have 6 spots open for Friday night camping! Who's in?

Remember too that there will be plenty of space all day and evening to hang at the campsites, for those that don't have an overnight spot. Bring your camp chairs, coolers and toys and come spend a nice long day with us! Wear the kiddos out and put them in their PJ's and drive home late ! Also, for those who can do the spur of the moment, I would bring a tent, just in case there are no shows at the campground, but that's just me ;p
I am brings arts/crafts/toys. We are really excited!!!

Crazy me is willing to harbor fugitives in my campsite (haha) or you can sleep in my car!! OK probably not a good idea. Wow - such a busy weekend up there! For those on the waiting list and not able to find a site -it does look like the day trips alone are going to be fun!!!

I was wondering if people would mind listing the age of their kiddos, so I know if mine would have a playmate or not. Thanks!

I haven't been to Bassi Falls, but I keep hearing such great things about it. We'll have to make that one of our hikes on the camping trip.

We should plan a Bassi Falls hike while we are there. It is right to the campground and a lot of fun for kids (plus there should be a lot of water this time of year).
