Hidden Valley Falls - 7 Pools Loop (4-5 miles) - Superbowl Sunday

This location is shown only to members

Well, it would appear we do indeed have some interest, so here are the details for those of you either looking to get out before the big game, or escape the entire thing altogehter (I'm in the latter category)!

Let's meet at the trailhead at the main parking lot at 10.30am.  We will be on the trail by 10.40 am

For detailed info, check out the map and directions at:

This is a beautiful little park, near Auburn, complete with a waterfall.  There are very many variations of the route, but the one I had in mind, because I haven't done it yet, is the 7 Pools Loop.  I believe it is about 4 1/2 miles roundtrip from the parking area.  There are a few ups and downs, but nothing major.  However, this is a trail so if you have a wee one, I would suggest a backpack over a stroller.

What to bring:

Layered clothing, water, snacks, sack lunch, something to sit on while we eat, camera, sunscreen if it's warm, and a sense of humor.  Furthermore, if you're missing a Super Bowl party, feel free to bring an adult beverage and your buffalo wings along too to enjoy in the outdoors instead of the indoors!

One last thing, in case you decide to turn around early or extend your route, print out a trail map.  These can be found at:

Great day for hiking. Great crowd. Some did the shorter route, some of us the longer. Had a lot of fun and met some very nice people. Oh, and missed the Super Bowl, yeah!!!

We are so sorry we missed the hike! We drove all the way out to Auburn and were about 10 minutes away from the trailhead when my husband's car broke down! We were so bummed that we couldn't make it to the hike. We had to call a tow truck (and with the baby in the car seat it was a bit of a problem) and then a taxi from the car repair shop to get home. We are looking into buying a new car! I hope we can make it to the next one. So sorry : (
