The Sacramento chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State is participating in the Pride Parade on Saturday, June 15th. Marchers will convene at Crocker Park, corner of 3rd and N Sts., and must be on-site by 10:15am. Look for our Americans United banner and join us. The parade starts at 11:00am and ends at the Capitol. Details about the day-long Pride Festivities can be found at [masked] .
If you plan to walk with Americans United in support of the LGBTQI community, please let me know ASAP. The organizers need a head count so they can prepare the staging area appropriately. There's no need to sign in; I'll do that for the group. If our exact location in the park is provided ahead of time, I'll send that to you. Otherwise, our banner should be easy to spot.
Most importantly, keep this in mind: Rightwing fundamentalists have pursued a wide-ranging plan for America that includes many restrictions on individual rights as possible. The American commitment to personal freedom can only be insured by maintaining a separation between religion and government. Marching in the Pride Parade is one way to show your support for this critical principle.
Please invite your family and friends. Thanks.
