Highway Cleanup

Join us as we make a difference to the beauty of our freeways!

Partnering with Atheists and Other Freethinkers (AOF), we'll clean a two-mile stretch of Highway 99 just north of Elkhorn Blvd.

Local freethinking groups will be there and we hope you'll stop by and pitch in as we pick up trash and all kinds of mysterious items.

This is a great event for older children, too! But please leave little ones at home.

Note: Wet conditions = cancelled event.

We've got Everything You Need

We'll provide grabbers, trash bags, gloves, and virtually everything else you need to help restore the environment.

Getting There

Our section of the highway is at the Elkhorn Blvd exit, just north of Natomas where the I-5 and CA-99 split.

We'll meet at the Park and Ride located on Elkhorn Blvd, just west of the CA-99 freeway off ramp.

Always interesting. In the middle of the NE cloverleaf, I discovered the motherload of all trash. Next time will have to go back to bag the rest of it.

I may have to be out of town, but if not, I'll be there.
