Stand With FFRF Banner at Pride Parade

Support Separation of Church and State!

Support Everyone's Civil Rights!

Stand with the Greater Sacramento Chapter FFRF Banner in Saturday's Pride Parade along N Street!  Cheer as groups go by in the parade!  Help us hold the banner up high!

Find us on the parade route, N Street, around 9th or 10th streets.  You can park in the garage on 10th St, just off L St.

So many church groups visibly make their appearance at this parade, let's at least be a sidelines showing of our non-religious group!  You need not be a member of FFRF to come join us!  This is a chance for everyone to see atheists have a community here and support keeping religious dogma out of politics.

This is standing on the sidewalk only this time, waving the banner.  Maybe next year we can all be a contingent IN the parade!

I was looking forward to laughing with you, Mashariki! We were sitting in chairs at 9th and N, with the banner in front of us along the curbside. Maybe the standing people around us hid us... Sorry we didn't hook up!

I must have been blind as a bat! I was right on that corner! Ha!

The banner got loads of attention! Almost all positive. One lady asked if she could find us online. Others said they agreed with us. One guy sang the song "Imagine". The church people in the parade seemed confused, but smiled as soon as we did. It was so fun. People being themselves is always a good thing. We absolutely must be IN the parade next year, to counter the dozen churches in the parade if nothing else.

This is great! If I wasn't already hosting an event in Stockton, I'd totally be there.

Holding the banner alongside the parade this year is Janet T's idea!

The Grand Marshall of the parade says he will look for us and give us a healthy hello from his vehicle, which he thinks might be the Wells Fargo Stage Coach. Huzzah!

It was so hot last year that I bought some rainbow polka dot umbrellas to use this year. I have four of them, plus rainbow leis. Wear bright, rainbow colors for maximum effect.
