Potluck & Politics

The elections are over. Already, a skin of dust settles on the polls. You have read the results, and are either dancing or weeping. Time to meetup for a post-election potluck luncheon and pundancy.

Come hear your fellow freethinkers rage, rave, vent, laugh or demand a recount. No chair-throwing please, but feel free to join the fun. Simply prepare a small speech or comment, story or poem or even song, to suit the day. And of course, bring food, one dish, enough to serve 5.

It is an "open mike" event hosted by AOF (Atheists and Other Freethinkers), but with time limits for each talk, so prepare your words not to exceed its declared time limit. You can commit to either a brief sound-bite (2 minutes maximum) or to an actual short speech (5 minutes max). Abide by the limit, and you will qualify for the event's grand prize! What prize? Ah, that is a secret, for now. ... At least while we riffle through the junk drawer ...

If you have much on your mind, prepare multiple presentations for both the <2 min and the 2-to-5 min categories. But prioritize them please, because a second round will occur only if available time after each person who wishes has had one shot at edifying the audience on one topic. (Edifying ... heh-heh ... we are so optimistic!)

Remember, this will be a potluck and an open mike event. Bring something for the food table, something free-thoughty and relevant for our minds.

No mic was necessary as the group was small. Great discussion mainly about future of atheism and politics.

Poorly attended. Those who were there were in good spirit and had much to say.
