Book Club: No Snowflake in an Avalanche

We'll be discussing No Snowflake in an Avalanche by Michael Weinstein (nonfiction - culture):

No Snowflake in an Avalanche goes deep inside the world of religious extremism in America s military and political infrastructure from the perspective of Michael L. Mikey Weinstein proud Academy graduate and father of graduates who single-handedly brought to light the Evangelicals utter disregard of the constitutional principle of separation of church and state that is so essential to the nations military mission. Weinsteins war pits him and his small band of fellow graduates, cadets, and concerned citizens of varying religious backgrounds against a program of Christian fundamentalist indoctrination that could transform our fighting men and women into right-thinking warriors more befitting a theocracy than democracy.

Available on Amazon or ask other SacFANers to borrow a copy. You can also purchase directly through the author.

Come with a few thoughts/ideas about the book to discuss!

About the Venue
The Coffee Garden is a little coffee shop just off Broadway and 99. We're probably in the separate room off to the left when you come in the front door. If the weather's nice, we may be in the garden through the back door.

They serve all sorts of coffees and drinks, sodas, and a wide variety of sandwiches and salads perfect for dinner if you choose. They appreciate it if you at least buy a drink/pastry.

Please be courteous and do not bring outside food or drinks.

Where can I find the list of selected books for 2013, and which months we're discussing them? Thanks.

And they're all listed on the calendar as well - that's where we have links to Amazon, library, etc.

I have about a dozen of these (paperback, new) that I can sell to anyone who wants them. Let me know. (They're left over from Freethought Day. Unsold books will be shipped back to the Mr. Weinstein.)
