Hello wonderful group! Please note that the first 150 people who attend the "Sustainable Meat" film will receive a free burrito coupon from Chipotle - it is not a meat burrito coupon and you can therefore get a vegan or veg burrito with your coupon. :)
Also, this is not intended to be a protest. The Food & Nutrition Club will have the Compassionate Choices pamplets at the table at the entrance of the auditorium for film viewers to take (I purchased them and they asked me in the first place if I had any pamplets to hand out). Their purpose in showing the film was not to promote meat, but to get people to start thinking about where their food comes from. It's a good starting point, but ultimately, "sustainable meat" is an oxymoron at best. I hope many people from the vegetarian and environmental perspective can show up so they can balance the point of view and discussions that will follow the film with thought-provoking questions for the moderator to ask the panel. This will help open the minds of the students who attend. The format will go like this: Everyone who wants to write questions during the film may do so, then a moderator will collect the questions after the film to ask the panel. The questions will not be pre-screened, just read one after the other.
Hope to see as many of you there as possible!
