A Look into each other's Bug Out Bags

This will be a semi-annual recurring meeting.

If you don't have a bag to show, that is OK. Come and learn about what others are carrying to get ideas.  Feel free to take notes. :)

If you have been to one of these before, this is a great time to show off any changes you have made and what you have learned. :)

Because this is a public venue, if you carry guns as part of your gear, please leave them at home or secured properly as you see fit, but not in the bag at the meeting.  Feel free to talk about what weapons you carry, bring photos if you like, etc.

There are three typical options for bags (can be called different things by other people)...

The Bug HOME Bag (because the SHTF when you are at work or on the road and the kids are at school or at home!) Keep this one in your car. - This site has a really good list to start off your bag.

The Bug OUT Bag - if you are already at home or made it home and determine that staying home just isn't an option. (I am still looking for good links for what should go in here. if you have one, let me know.)

This event was very successful the first time. 19 people showed their stuff. Many questions were answered and that raised new ones. I am now on the look out for a better pack, taking a class to learn some new skills, changing out a few pieces of gear, and planning to do a couple of dry runs (practice trips home). Would love to hear if people would like to try a weekend camp out using only bug out gear. I think its the only way to find out what works.
