Coffee Night - Lincoln - Communications

  • May 8, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We will spend the first 15-20 minutes talking about various communication methods during SHTF event. Please bring your ideas and if you have a radio, bring that too. :)

I will try and remember to bring info on local Ham clubs where you can get your license. (Unless someone already has this info?? ;)

Here is a time to get a coffee, kick your feet up and meet some like minded people and talk about prepping, food storage, water storage, the books you are reading. If you are new to prepping this is a great way to meet people that are doing things your are doing and will not think you are weird.

Coffee Night in Lincoln will be set so you can meet others to work together, put your plans together, get ideas for others, and just start networking. This will help you get answers to some questions, get help on things your doing, or just get feed back on what everyone else is doing. There are so many things people in the the group are in to, so come out, meet some new people and get to know each other.

Bought a pair of cheapo 2m/440 handhelds hoping John or some one will show up to help me with programming and operating!

Good information! Starbucks is kind of loud with music so it is a little hard to hear. I enjoyed the evening!

yeah, sometimes I ask them to turn the music down. It was REALLY load last time. :) since the weather was questionable we stayed inside, but hopefully the next meeting we can sit outside.

Great meeting, learned a lot and enjoyed the conversations. I wanted to share this web site for anyone who wants to prep for the Ham license exams or learn Morse Code.

Another informative event. Found a great app for studying to take the Ham Radio Tech exam. Ham Test Prep on Android. We need to get a Ham group going for practice, Not exactly a "meetup" but you can meet over the air waves! :)

By "Radio" are we talking about HAM Radio or any two way communication device that isn't dependent on Cell coverage? I am interested in learning HAM though.

Bring anything you have, but I think most the members have ham.
