Greetings, I'm Jim Jordan, local Sacramento Musician.
I'm a professional musician. I host Sacramento's only open mic Piano Bar at Headhunters each Tuesday from 7:00-11:00 and play for Miss Gayiel Von each Friday from 7:00-9:00, which makes it hard to get to any of the mixers. I am also the Music Director at Pioneer Congregational UCC, a welcoming and open and affirming congregation! Check us out. Our wonderful pastor is also gay (^_^) I am also Director of Music for The Experience, an inter-faith community here in Sacramento that meets at St Paul's (15th and J) each Sunday at 4:04pm. My partner is Junichi Nakajima, he is from Japan. He is a nurse and currently studying english so he can get a CA license and hopefully stay here!!
Adam came to my Piano Bar and invited me!
Thanks for the info about a Church for All ... Seems more my style and my partner and I have been thinking about checking it out ... As long as there's no liturgy then I could see myself going there ... Music and liturgy are deal breakers for me ... So, far I haven't really been able to find a church that has what I'm looking for ...
Hi Jim - Thanks for your message and inviting me to your church. Just a couple of questions is the music contemporary christian like Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Lincoln Brewster, etc and do people worship like in the Pentecostal and Baptist tradition? Is your church more liturgy where there's a lot of congregational reading ("praying")?
Thanks for the greeting, we do not have a church home. Do they have a program for kids as well?
hey fingerz! i just realized that you're not receiving notifications from the group because your email address isn't working. come see us soon, jim. cheers! adam
Well, if you let me know when you're working at Headhunters, maybe I can stop by and we can have a drink after? I'd actually be interested in talking with you about your experiences. I'm a writer and your stories would be great to hear. You can email me at [masked]
Hi Jim - I'm sure we'd have some interesting things to talk about. My father was also a music minister in the Assemblies of God and gay. See you at an upcoming meetup!?
