Ten (10) Reservations are currently available for the Summer 2010 Yellowstone National Park Trip
Six campsites were booked to accommodate 24 campers so space will be limited to only 24 people. There are currently six (6) people who would like to sell their reservations for this trip. If you are interested in purchasing a reservation for this trip please contact the sellers directly (note that those selling their reservations have updated their RSVP's to include their contact information).
Those Purchasing Reservations:
After purchasing a reservation please contact Dale or Shannon so that we can add your name to the RSVP list.
Those Selling Reservations:
Please update your RSVP to include your phone number and include a statement that you are selling your reservation(s). After selling a reservation please contact Dale or Shannon so that we can remove your name to the RSVP list.
We booked only Six campsites (enough to accommodate 24 campers) at Canyon Campground for the nights of July 20, 2010 through July 25, 2010.
ONLY TWO TENTS ARE ALLOWED PER CAMPSITE (STRICTLY ENFORCED BY NPS).
This means we will have to SHARE tents, at least two people per tent and four people per campsite. Please make your own arrangements to share a tent and car pool.
Please note that they strictly enforce the following campsite regulations, and violations will result in an expensive citation:
1) Maximum tents per campsite of either “One” 12"x12" tent or “Two” 8"x8" tents,
2) Maximum people per camp site at any one time is 6 and group gatherings are not allowed,
3) No unattended / unsecured food, water, etc. (anything not properly stored in bear lockers), and
4) No open fires allowed (gas and charcoal grills are allowed).
The $40 per person reservation fee includes six (6) nights of camping in Canyon Campground for the nights of July 20, 2010 through July 25, 2010.
All other associated costs (food, transportation, park entrance, etc.) will be your responsibility. Each person must arrange for his or her own transportation.
I am in! Already paid in full for 2.
What is the best way to fly there? I see that there are about 4 airports in the vecinity. What is the best route from Sacramento (SMF)?
I need to carpool with someone else or I can't go, please contact me if I can carpool with you? Thanks, Vickie
Hey Dale and Shannon, will there be room at the sites for RV's or should I reserve my own? Thanks, Charlie
Hey Dale, just got off the phone with campground reservation. Due to our large group they highly suggest staying at Bridge Bay campground. More room, easier to get sites next to each other, close to the lake, in a nicer setting, etc. I will also be allowed to have 1 12x12 tent on my RV site if anyone is interested. Thanks.
My understanding was deposits were due later this week. I was one of the first 10 people to RSVP but my status was changed for me. I'm curious what happened.
I also would love to go if there is any more room. I saw the e-mail last week that RSVP's/pymt was due by 1/28, and when I went on today to RSVP and pay, I saw that the number of spots available has now been reduced. I hope a spot opens up!
Sorry Michelle and everyone else who got bumped. We had to make the reservations for 5 sites while we still had time. We couldn't wait until the 28th. We are now full. Please place yourselves on the waiting list.
I made my own reservations at Canyon Campground for July 20-26. I would like to attend the planning meeting so I can join you guys on hikes and also for info on driving there. Hope that's ok :)
Thanks Dale! My reservation is for "1 8'x4' Tent, No Large Tent, or RV," so I don't even think there would be room for anyone else. Very curious to see what my site will look like; apparently there are a lot of trees. . .
A friend of mine would like to go. Any chances that more spots will open up?
Thanks
Thanks for all the links, maps, and ideas!
you all get to call me the weakest link, but: I booked a room at Canyon Lodge and Cabin within the park $101 plus tax / nite for 3 nites. 2 single beds, room mates welcome... so I will be well rested for all the hikes, ha.... plan on renting a car with stops (sites TBD) there and back; anyone else interested, let me know; maybe rent a van ???
Dale, really looking forward to your May meeting for final arrangements
I will not be able to make this trip and I have paid for two people if anyone is interested...please contact me...christine plus one
Sorry I can't go to the July hiking trip to Yellowstone. I am looking for someone that would be interested in purchasing my spot. Thanks -- Rich Schuler
Due to work related travel, I cannot make it to the Yellowstone trip :(. I have 2 spots for sale, at $40 each. If interested, please contact me at 916-743-4943 or email: mauricio@cuervo.net--Thanks! --Mauricio Cuervo
Hey everyone. I apologize, but I did not realize that my profile was set up to not receive e-mails directly. I changed it. I already got the second ticket I needed for Yellowstone, but I sent a blast e-mail to another group inviting others. Hopefully, we will be fully booked for this trip soon.
Thanks Dale. I still have a reservation for the trip. Please let me know how to make it easy for you to purchase my reservation. Mary.
Hey Dale, ok, I contacted Petra and I will take her 2 spots and I also contacted Mike to pick up his spot. So my kids and I are in! I will have my trailer and was advised that I can have 1 8x8 tent on my site is anyone is interested.
Hey you who want to go on the Yellowstone camp out and hike I now have again my spot open and ready to sell -- Sally now says she can't go in July. Please call me at 916 4831651 or on my cell 916 6120385 ---- Thanks -- Rich Schuler
I am so sorry to have to back out of this trip! Circumstances both in and out of my control are forcing me to cancel. I will do my best to continue to promote the trip so as to pick up spots from those who have paid and cannot go... Charlie
Dale,
I will not be able to make to this trip. I have a family issue that I can't be away for that long. I will change my RSVP and I have 2 tickets to sell. Thanks
If anyone is not in a hurry to get home, I recommend a detour to Cody, WY. The Buffalo Bill Historical center is an amazing museum, with one of the best (if not THE best) collections of Plains Indian art/artifacts I have seen.
Is anyone driving to Yellowstone who is still looking for riders?
Only 1 week away!!! Looking forward to an exciting trip and to see this amazing place! See you there next week:-)
