11th & P Street Open Parking Lot (map)
Rockville Hills Regional Park
Rain cancels - check here by 7am Sunday morning.
Rockville Hills Regional Park in Fairfield is a delightful walk among gorgeous black oaks along green rolling hills. There are views of the Suisun Bay and lots of birds to enjoy.
Cost: $3 per person ($1 per dog) for park admittance and $5 for your carpool driver.
We will stop for a ~45 minute snack/lunch break about 2/3 of the way through...so pack a lunch.
I will provide maps with a highlighted route through their "spaghetti" of trails.
However, if you take your own car, you are free to explore more on your own.
10am Estimated time at trailhead parking lot.
3pm: estimated return time to Sacramento
Directions from East bound 80:
Take the Abernathy Road exit and head west.
At the roundabout, turn left, continuing west through the intersection of Suisun Valley and Rockville Roads. The park is located on the west (left) side of Rockville Road.
Shannon- I have a friend that lives in Vacaville that wants to meet us at the trailhead. What time will we be at the trailhead?
~10am at the parking lot described above
Shannon, I'm having issues with my feet and won't know if I'm up to hiking until the day before. I REALLY want to attend, and I hope a last minute confirmation is okay. Thank you!
Last minute confirmation is fine...no problem!
Are there plenty of cars in the pool for this one? I am happy to drive (keeping in mind I am new to the area and may get lost easily. :) ), but live just down the street so it would be easy for me to just walk to the parking lot meeting area as well.
Thanks!
Yes Cathy, rain cancels. I added it above after seeing your question. It will be too muddy if it rains.
The broken bone in my left foot is not ready to be hiked upon. :( Maybe in one more week.
Have fun Shannon if you don't get rained out. I have a foot problem and should take it easy anyway. Hopefully next time.

Thanks to Gary M. and Rich S. who helped me scout out the proposed route. If anyone else is familiar with this park and would like to add something...please let me know
