East Bay to San Francisco

We are going to put in at the Boat Ramp of Marina Park in Emeryville, paddle along, under, and between the spans of the new Bay Bridge as it rises in height as we paddle.  From Yerba Buena Island we'll paddle to the Bay View Boat Club in S.F., and paddle back to the put in, for a round trip distance of about 14 miles.

Essential Skills and Equipment:  PFD, solo and tandem rescue, bracing, recent bay or ocean paddling, cold weather gear along with a wet suit or dry suit, drinking water and food rations.

This trip is for PAID SSKPC MEMBERS ONLY.  Car pooling to the Bay for this one day trip to the bay is encouraged.  A large party at the Bay View Boat club is scheduled this day.  Additional details about the party, a possible hot meal at the boat club, and a slightly differing departure time will be forthcoming.

I'm super excited to do this trip but being back in Emeryville by 4 is key. If there's a chance the party at the boat house may delay our return, I'll catch the next trip.

I have been looking into the Bay View Boat club accommodations further. The "large party" planned at the boat club that day is actually "Big Sue's Memorial Potluck". Although we are welcome to attend, it doesn't start until 5pm, so that's out of the picture. 10:30am at the Emeryville Marina Park Boat Ramp will be our meetup time, and we will be on the water by 11am. Bring a sack lunch, and we will take a break and eat in S.F. at the Bay View Boat Club at around 12:30 and 1. Additional information about the available dockage, restrooms, and table space is forthcoming... Mike and I have been to the Bay View Boat Club before. It is a great place with down to earth members. It's just a matter of letting them know we are coming, and coordinating the arrangements with the Port Captain.
