2013 Explore Suisun Slough near Suisun City and Grizzly Island

10 am (OTW) launch from Suisun Marina
Objective: Explore the meandering sloughs within the marshlands; Hope to see lots of birds
Bring lunch and water, paddling gear, dress for immersion,
Required Skills: due to the exploratory nature of the day, this outing is NOT for beginners. Be able to reenter your boat if capsize, control boat direction and speed in moderate winds.

I-80 to Fairfield. Exit HWY 12 eastbound. At Suisun City exit onto Lotz Way, Turn left onto Main St. Turn right onto Cordelia St. Go 1 block then turn right onto Kellogg St. Go 0.2 miles and launch ramp is on left.

    Suisun City Paddle is a GO. Looks like a good group.
    Friday Weather looks good, clear, 60F light winds.

    Meet at Suisun City Marina at 9:30 am. Directions: I-80 to Fairfield. Exit CA 12 eastbound. At Suisun City, exit onto Lotz Way, turn left onto Main St. Turn right onto Cordelia St. Go 1 block then turn right onto Kellogg St. Go 0.2 miles and launch ramp is on left.

    Car Pool: telephone Charlie Pike [masked] to make arrangements . My pick-up carries one passenger and boat. We need two vehicles for shuttle.

    Car shuttle to Montezuma Slough. Directions: Return to CA 12. Go 0.6 miles east and exit onto Grizzly Island Road south, go 5.5 miles to Montezuma Slough Fishing Access

    Paddle & explore Suisun City marsh islands, Hill Slough, Cutoff Slough to Montezuma Slough. Estimated Distance: 10 miles +/-

    Bring your own boat and gear, water, lunch

    Non SSK members will be asked to sign waiver.
    I’ll ask for photo model releases for book publication.
