Bike Ride (4A). Folsom Lake (Sacramento Group)

Ride up to Beals Point at Folsom Lake, and perhaps beyond, starting at the Fish Hatchery off Hazel Ave. and Hwy. 50. Ride along the American River Bike Trail, which is paved, next to Lake Natoma. A moderately-paced ride of about 20 miles, with some hills, 750' elevation gain. We'll have lunch at Folsom lake, perhaps walk down towards the lake, then ride back down the hill. Singletrack 'detour' upon request for the mountain bike riders. Great views of Lake Natoma and Folsom Lake. Forecast of rain cancels. Learn about Delta water conservation issues and discuss the proposed tunnels. Bring lunch, water, snacks, tire kit, helmet, and fully-prepared bike, etc. Rain cancels.  Call for reservation by Dec. 17th. Leader: Stan Jones[masked],  or geezenski2 (at) sbcglobal.net.  (use @)

I'm available some week days, and would normally participate in this ride. Unfortunately I am still recovering from a stubborn head " cold".

Hi Stan, is your "moderately paced" around 13-15 mph? Also, so you bring lunch or buy it somewhere? I'm looking for mid-week daytime rides as I need to train for an event next summer!

Hi Julie, We probably do 12 or 13 mph. We bring our lunches, and eat at Beals Point. The cafe is closed in the winter. Are you in?

Hi, I think this isn't going to work out this week but in the new year I would like to try and join on a ride.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
