Day Hike - Marin Bikeway Into Sam Taylor State Park

Click Here For The Park's Brochure

This is a nice, level bike trail that follows Lagunitas Creek into the park.  From our meeting location outside of the park, we'll use the old road bridge to cross over Lagunitas Creek and follow it through an upland (grassland) area.  About halfway along the trail, we enter a majestic redwood forest and then continue on to the picnic tables to enjoy our lunch.

Includes a quick stop on our way to the hike at the Marin Cheese Factory (where you can purchase sandwiches, cheeses, and sodas, beer or wine for your lunch).  Public restrooms are available at the Cheese Factory.

Turned out to be a perfect day for a hike in the woods. The knees/feet felt it though the next day. Probably would prefer more dirt trail than pavement for next but understand the trail conditions were sloppy this day...

A beautiful day with great people. This is one of my favorites of the area, with a nice flat trail and a gorgeous redwood forest to hike and lunch in. Also, a fun dinner afterward with most of the group!!!

Great walk on pavement which kept us from from tromping through the mud.
