Backyard Plum Harvest in Tahoe Park and South Oak Park

HARVEST SACRAMENTO NEIGHBORHOOD GLEANING

This is a fruit gleaning event hosted by our Harvest Tahoe Park neighborhood group.

Volunteers will join Tahoe Park coordinator, Charleen McDaniel and Harvest Sacramento coordinator, Dominic Allamano, for a harvest of backyard plum and trees located in the Tahoe Park and South Oak Park neighborhoods.

The group will meet at the picnic benches near the corner of 61st and 11th streets, and will then divide into groups and head out into the neighborhoods for the harvest.

Harvest Sacramento will provide all the necessary harvesting materials - picker-poles, ladders, clippers buckets and boxes. Bring a pair of gloves if you would like to use them.

Volunteers will carpool to each site. If you have a truck or SUV that could help move people, tools and boxes, please bring it!

YOUTH: Young children (3-10 yrs old) are welcome to join us, but will be asked to focus their energy on sorting, packing and transporting the fruit. Children under the age of 15 are required to have supervision from a parent/guardian, while youth 15-17 can attend without adult supervision, but must have a volunteer waiver signed by their parent/guardian. I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
