I am a new owner of a 1/4 acre in Arden area. I am seeking people who will be interested in fruit trees, blackberry brambles and other projects to create an Urban Food Forrest.

In the meantime volunteer with Harvest Sacramento - it is stone fruit season. There have been 3 harvests scheduled in the last five days! Check Eventbrite for tomorrow night in Tahoe Park/Oak Park!?

You have so many amazing meetups... I wish I lived close enough to attend some of them... Could you tell me, though, how I could purchase some tree collards?
    Thank you! :)

We (Harvest Sacramento) are gleaning pretty much every Saturday through April (although not this Saturday...we have a large harvest on MLK Day, Monday). You can register for on of our upcoming events:

Lily, Thanks so much for the information! I contacted Randy and was able to participate yesterday. I had a great time and can't wait to help out some more!

I looked into the Harvest Sacramento events. They appear on the eventbrite.com website and I have signed up for the 3-16 one. When I went to get more information on soilborn.org, however, I was unable to get any information on a 3-16 plan to harvest. I don't know if they are just in need of more people interested or if they have lost leadership on the project. Also their website is a hit or miss. Sometimes it will load and other times it won't. Does anybody a way to contact them, or be interested in organizing our own?

Hi all, Here are a few options for you:

    1. Join one of our (Harvest Sacramento) existing neighborhood harvest events. Link to our registration page: https://www.eventbrite.com/org/470215629?s=5062067

    2. Harvest Sac has neighborhood groups getting organized to take the lead in harvesting the trees in their own neighborhood. Start up groups have formed in Midtown/downtown, East Sac, River Park, Curtis Park and Land Park. I can connect you with them if you live in those areas.

    3. Harvest Orangevale is looking for leaders to step up: http://www.facebook.com/HarvestOrangevale

    4. Village Harvest Davis also is looking for leaders: http://www.villageharvest.org/davis/

I hope this helps get some of you plugged in. I am also happy to host a meeting and/or lend harvesting materials to this group if you want to organize your own harvest.

I want to participate in this event - Monday & Wednesday's I'm in school - so those days are not good - and I have class until 8pm. Other than that, I'm open. For the site suggestion for the venue, do you want an indoor or outdoor location?

I will probably be up to my eyeballs in various summer squash in a few weeks. I'd love to swap if the slugs don't get them all.

I hope I am not messing with the process here. I would love for the meeting to happen at Beatnik Books and am excited to attend but I know nothing about the subject.. I am assuming someone would be leading the meeting (also not my cup of tea).. from my end the store can host anytime Wednesday-Sunday.
