I am self taught by reading. In my ongoing pathetic dirt battle I became interested in permaculture and hugelkulture. I have seen first hand the difference cover cropping can make, but now am becoming a permaculture believer in allowing the natural process to do the work.
Definitely, I am currently replacing a bermuda infested lawn with food.
To expand my knowledge, to meet others with same and to become involved in local education, if possible.
I am interested in all aspects of permaculture and sustainable living, including cooperative living and am interested to becoming more involved in activism as I become more aware of the affects of Giant Agribusiness on our food policy and future.
I have been an organic gardner my entire life, as my father was a longtime subscriber to Rodale's Organic Farm and Garden and passed all to me. After moving to Carmichael , I found myself with the huge challenge of the worst dirt possible.
I am looking forward to additional meetups - everyone I met was serious about the subject matter. This volunteer opportunity is exactly what i was hoping to connect with when I joined the Permaculture guild
