What do you know about permaculture?

Lots of things, especially when it comes to plants and forest gardens, but little on certain other topics. My education has been all self driven and informal, I've never taken a PDC (never had the money or time) so I am probably missing some basics, but I have read fairly extensively so I do know some things.

Do you enjoy hands on projects?

Hell yes. I can't wait to start working on some.

What are you looking for from this group?

Meeting new and exciting people, working on cool projects, broadening my ideas, learning how to live on planet earth.

What permaculture emphasis grabs you the most? Sustainable gardening and farming, natural building, activism, cooporative communities, other?

I find the entire philosophy very exciting. My passion is forest gardening/perennial polycultures/wildlands management but just the idea that we can transition society to a more peaceful, just, and regenerative state is very powerful. For a long time I thought all we could do was slow or delay the eventual collapse, but I think if permaculture catches on and we put our heads together we can really build a new and better world.

I have just moved to Davis and I am looking to connect with other interesting permaculture types. I am a committed plant nerd and my passion is forest gardening and designing biodiverse perennial food systems. Looking forward to meeting you all!
