CCOF Certified Organic Rice Chaff Straw Bales - $4.00 per bale - P/U @ 26th & C Midtown New Era Community Garden

Sacramento, CA
Post #: 6
In my experience it is impossible to find organic straw bales. The only straw bales available are conventionally grown. Western Feed Supply in East Sac sells them for $7.49 a bale - wheat straw chaff and they do not know source of origin or if the wheat is GMO or sprayed with pesticides, pre-emergents, etc. Orchard grass straw bales are selling for $20.00 a bale.

I found a source of CCOF certified organic rice straw bales for only $4.00 a bale. This is $3.50 lower price than conventionally grown straw bales that have all sorts of petrochemical gunk.

The farmer is in Marysville and will deliver it to Midtown if I can get 30 bale minimum. The bales MUST be pre-paid in advance. I cannot front the money for this purchase in the hope that eventually I get reimbursed.

If you are interested, please contact me offline - I will send you a Pay Pal invoice - from that you can pay me. It takes about 4 days for Pay Pal to process the transaction. Therefore, please act on this promptly. The farmer has 90 bales and wants to unload the bales ASAP because when it rains, straw bales get moldy quite fast.

The delivery pick up site is New Era Community Garden in Midtown at 26th & C Street. I am a member and have a key to the gate. I will notify all buyers of the pre-appointed date and time for pick up. If you have a schedule conflict I can make arrangements with you.
