We are very excited to be planning two meet-ups in July :) The first will be at a wonderful new, entirely vegan, raw restaurant in the heart of the Del Paso art district! The second will be at a new member’s home! So if you were to miss one, the hope is that you will be able to attend the other and bonus points to all who attend both. If possible we will be trying to schedule two meet-ups per month in the future.

The Art of Food is a new and very progressive restaurant. Jasen and I had the pleasure of eating there this past weekend and we could not have enjoyed it more...simply delish food. Richard, the raw mastermind behind The Art of Food, is a genius when it comes to flavors and raw living. His goal is to run a sustainable restaurant, with great food that also contributes back to the veg community in many other ways. Currently, the evening menu is a set menu with Richard having given much thought to the parings that changes daily. We enjoyed a chorizo appetizer, a raw banana and chocolate nips shake, with our main entrees being falafels and a sushi roll – yes, and all of it was raw, vegan yuminess. We shared each dish and were delighted by the flavors and textures.

For this event, we’re trying it on a Friday as something new and hopefully a success :) We want to accommodate everyone, though we know that will never happen, by trying new days and interesting, new venues. Please be sure to let me know or one of the other organizers know any feedback or constructive criticism.
For those new to the group, we are a friendly bunch with a mix of vegans, vegetarians and those making the transition. We are just a great group of people wanting to get together to share a great meal, make some new friends or reconnect with old friends...all while sharing a common interest - being a veg person.

So please join us for a fun evening out at The Art of Food! Good friends, new friends to be made and a wonderful raw experience.

Request :) Our dear friend Jenn, is super eco friendly and as a result is not a driver. Is there anyone attending this meet-up who will be coming from the Fair Oaks area who would be able to be her car pool ride? Please send me a private msg if you would be willing to pick up and drop off Jenn (in Fair Oaks) Thank you :)

Jenn - I gave Richard at The Art of Food a call today to give him an update on the RSVP list and ask him about general cost ideas to pass on to you. I havent spoken with him yet, but when I do, will give you the info. One of his goals is to keep the cost of raw organic food affordable so I would say that its a fair price for what you eat. Its by no means costly. I believe there is a blog site, but for some reason I can't find it again. Dena - I have not heard that, but hope its true :)

FYI the RSVP list is limited for this meet-up :) only 40 total "YES" RSVP spots available. If there are more than 40 people wanting to attend, we will have a wait list.

    •  Great to meet everyone.
    •  The food was great! Full of flavor and energizing! Thanks Richard for all you and your helps hard work in making this event so nice.
    •  I had a great time! It was great being able to talk to and get to know the people at my table, but it would have been nice to meet all the others as well. The tables were a bit hard to get around since they were a little cramped, and that's why I love potlucks at someone's house the best... You are able to mingle and meet more people. =) This was a really interesting dinner and very delicious. Thanks to Tanya for hosting this. =) Hope to see more of you again at another event soon.
    •  Tons of fun, mostly really friendly people, fun location, great food!
    •  Food was very good, people were friendly and interesting.
