"The Ultimate Betrayal: Is There Happy Meat?": Book Event with Hope Bohanec

The Sacramento Vegetarian Society is delighted to co-sponsor this informative presentation, based on "The Ultimate Betrayal," which lifts the veil of secrecy surrounding animal farming, and offers a rare look inside the world of alternative animal agriculture. Please join us!

Activist and author Hope Bohanec draws on peer-reviewed research, worker and rescuer testimony, and direct connections with farm animals to explore recent shifts in raising and labeling animals processed for food.

What do the terms "cage-free" and "organic" really mean? Are these products truly humane, environmentally friendly, or healthy? Can there really be happy meat? Ms. Bohanec will discuss these critical questions covered in her book.

Hope Bohanec has been an animal protection and environmental activist for over 20 years. She is the Grassroots Campaigns Director at In Defense of Animals, co-founder of the Sonoma County–based Compassionate Living, and primary organizer for the annual Conscious Eating Conference at UC Berkeley. She is currently working on a vegan-themed sci-fi novel.

Hi folks, I really look forward to meeting more of you and so does my husband. We couldn't make this one, but I was VERY SORRY not to make it. We had a serious emergency and just NOW have things under control. I will definitely attend if you present it again. Thank you!
