RING in the NEW:
Join SVS for a nature/bird walk followed by a potluck brunch.
8:30 a.m.: Walk(s) led by expert birders Frank Gray and Subhash Chand.
10 a.m.: Brunch potluck in the former Boy Scout lodge at Camp Pollock. Bring your favorite vegan brunch dish, we’ll provide hot coffee and tea (decaf available for both).
Be sure to bring your camera, binocs, or spotting scope, and field guide, if you have them. Dress for the weather; this is a rain or shine event.
Camp Pollock is located two miles north of the Capitol Mall on the north bank of the American River. If you went to our Picnic on October 19, or our Unturkey Thanksgiving potluck, you know what a fine site the Camp is. You can find the entrance to the camp here.
Please sign up in advance (we’re charging $2 person to cover our costs; children six and under, free), at http://www.sacramentovegetariansociety.org/wordpress1/home/ (scroll down and click the "pay now" button.
Would you believe that January 5th is National Bird Day and that the Camp is a stop on the Pacific Flyway!?!?
