Sacramento Earth Day 2014

Happy Earth Day to you …

Expect a day of enlightenment, entertainment—and just plain fun—when you join with 4,000 others at this year's Earth Day celebration, where

• learning how to be better stewards of the planet,

• committing to living sustainability, and

• reducing impact on the environment

will be the day's focus.

Community: Over 100 nonprofit, business, cultural, and governmental vendors—including the Sacramento Vegetarian Society—will share practical information, goods, and services for living more healthfully, protecting the environment, and saving money.

Sponsored by: Environmental Council of Sacramento (ECOS)

Cost: Free

All vegan! For the third successive year, the Sacramento Vegetarian Society, a member organization of ECOS, is organizing the food vendors, who will once again offer a variety of truly sustainable vegan-only edibles.

Volunteers needed! This is one of our most enjoyable tabling opportunities of the year. We'll be signing up tablers for one- or two-hour shifts. Please express your interest here or at [masked].

What a fun day. Thanks to Glenn for organizing the food vendors. My favorite food discovery was the raw tostada from the Green Boheme.

A huge thank you to all the Earth Day volunteers: Liz, Joyce, Phil, Wendy, Tom, Janet, Rae, Ilsa, and Glenn! You made staffing the booth so productive and loads of fun!

Mary, I will stop by the table lend a hand. I cannot provide tons of info but I will smile a lot.

Another volunteer opportunity. We still have tabler slots for the SVS Earth Day booth at:
    • 11–12
    • 2–3
    • 3-4
No experience necessary. You'll be paired w/a veteran SVS tabler. Even a half-hour would be so helpful!

Bring your camera to Earth Day! Please take some shots of the SVS booth and upload. This is an easy volunteer opportunity that would be greatly appreciated.

Look for the SVS "Veg-Out Zone" adjacent to our Earth Day booth (and the children's activity table). We'll have blankets and hopefully shade for weary festival goers and any others who just want to drop by to say hello or hang out with sister/fellow plant eaters and their pals.
