Vegan Swap Party

Jurassic Rae is hosting another VEGAN SWAP PARTY for SVS!

Its free, eco friendly, and for a good cause! Perfect for spring cleaning time!

Details: Please Read!!

If you have never been to a swap party, here are the rules and what to expect:

1. Bring a box (or bag) full of your best gently used or even new (vegan-friendly) belongings to donate. What a great time to clean out your cupboards and closets. Think clothes you don’t wear, movies you never watch, kitchen supplies you never use, books you never read...

2. Bring your box to the Grange Hall where tables will be organized by genre, and unload your goods to the designated table. (e.g,: place your books with the other books.)

3. Browse the tables! Have fun doing some GUILT-FREE SHOPPING and pick up anything you like, you can refill your box or bag if you want! (its free shopping because you are ‘swapping’!)

PLEASE, ONLY bring vegan-friendly stuff! NO leather jackets, wool sweaters, etc!

Even if you don’t find anything you don’t want, or just want to clean out some stuff from your house, it’s for a good cause, because leftover items will be donated to the SPCA Thrift Store for the animals!!

It’s an open event—come and go when you please. We will have a steady flow of stuff coming in and out. It’s a great way to mingle, and do some guilt-free, eco-friendly vegan shopping!

There will be lots of drinks and food available, (all vegan), music playing, and even raffle prizes!

Invite your friends—it's  not just a swap, it's a PARTY!

So start collecting things now, and we will see you there!

Everyone is invited, no need to be a SVS member. If you don't have belongings to swap, no worries, we will gladly accept a donation. Come and swap away for a good cause!

Fantastic Got a smoothie machine just the right size, got some books - especially one my teen-age granddaughter loves. Others got books I donated. People enjoyed looking through the clothes, yet it appears there will be items to donate to SPCA - for animals - Thrift shop. An awesome day. Thank you. Thank you to all who helped and all who participated!

I completely forgot that it's my niece's birthday on that day, so I had no choice but to cancel my RSVP.

Can't wait to attend this event 'cos i've got a corner in my apartment which is dedicated to the "Get Rid of It Pile" and I've been needing a good place to purge it all to a good home! Plus I'm sure there is some cool swag that is waiting for me April 26th.

This sounds like a great event? For those of us who have not been to a vegan swap party before (like me), could you provide more examples of what to bring...and not bring.

Bring your best gently used or even new stuff you want to get rid of when springcleaning, for instance i have several cookbooks, brandnew shoes i've never worn, great peices of clothes, some cool housewares like a counter towel rack, butterdish, vintage kitchen linens, brandnew set of socks in pkg, cds and dvd i never watch, some jewelry i dont wear, etc. Please no clothes with any holes or stains. all stuff thats gently used is great, but nice in condition still. think about what You would like to get, and bring that stuff. Probably no Big items because we have to haul all thats left to the SPCA to donate, so this makes it easier. as far as vegan items, we just encourage people to try and not bring things made from leather,or wool,or fur, i will be there to check things and no bigdeal if you are unsure, you can ask me, and i can set aside to donate ahead of time. this way it makes it kindof an vegan friendly shopping experiance. please fell free to ask me anything
