Let's go to Doggy Dash 2014 together and show how strong our group is and support Sacramento SPCA (please see details below). It will be cute to see all our pugs together
I have created a team "Sacramento Pug Lovers" for us. You can go register and join our team on the website www.sspca.org/dash Costs per person to join the team is $40 which includes a team shirt (our color is royal blue) with our team name on it; a team sign and a team photo.
On the website you can see the schedule, events and other info about Doggy Dash 2014.
I'm thinking that we will plan to meet at 8:30 am and gather up at the park. The park is big so we will meet near the 2k start line which will be near the corner of Sutterville Road and Freeport Blvd.
I signed us up for the 2k which begins at 9 am. There is an option of a 5k but there will probably be big dogs in that one AND we don't want to tire out our pugs too much. (UPDATE AS OF 6/4..... PUG RACES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. I ASKED TODAY AT THE SHIRT PICKUP AND SPCA SAID IT WILL BE TOO HOT SO AS OF TODAY THEY ARE CANCELLING RUNNING OF THE PUGS AND PUG RACES. BUT IF THE WEATHER CHANGES THEY MAY ADD IT BACK IN. SO I GUESS WE WILL SEE AT THE EVENT).Plus they need to save their energy for the "Running of the Pugs" which begin at 10 am. After the "Running of the Pugs" (this is all the pugs run together) there will be different heats of "Pug Races" starting at 10:25 and starting every 10-15 minutes. Registration for all events (like the pug races) at the Doggy Dash is $5 per person/animal. Interested participants can register for their selected events at the registration table in front of each contest location. Locations can be found on the event map provided in each Doggy Dash registration packet. It will be SO cute to see all our little puggies out there running. Remember to bring water for your pug since they will be getting lots of exercise and even though it's early in the day it's still summer time.
This will be Hogan's first Doggy Dash and we are very excited!!! I hope you all are too!!
