Let's Meetup for a Potluck Dinner & Fire!

Join us around a sacred fire on Friday, May 30th. We begin with a potluck meal around sunset, then head outside to sit around a consecrated fire. There is no set agenda; only to deepen our connection to each other and the world around us and to feel the transformative nature of fire--the energy of the heart.

Why Fire?

The element of Fire is the essence of our hearts, the source of compassion and spiritual connection. Acknowledged throughout history, Fire awakens our deepest knowing and wisdom, and enlivens our personal relationship with the Divine.

Why Fire Now?

In these times of uncertainty and rapid change, it is common to feel increasingly disconnected from ourselves, each other and the world. As the energy of transformation, Fire is a primordial healing presence in our lives. In the natural world, Fire burns away deadwood and decay, allowing forests to be reborn into lushness. Likewise, our hearts long to burn away fear and worn-out patterns, allowing us a fresh start in rebuilding life-sustaining connections.

**********

Open to people of all spiritual affiliations or those who do not identify with a particular tradition. Please bring: A dish to share for the potluck, warm enough clothes to sit around the fire, and any stories, poems, music or jokes that you would like to share. We welcome exchange (suggested donation: $5) to help keep these fires burning. See our Pages for more background on these fires and the Sacred Fire Community that sponsors them.

Unfortunately, I am feeling exhausted and will not be coming to the fire tonight. Sending you all lots of love. Have a blessed evening around the sacred fire.

Sincere apologies, Jessica and Larry, Rich just got home from a very long day and doesn't have it in him to go back out. I'm recovering from a workout injury that I could power thru if necessary, but now think I'll stay home with Rich and lay low. I hope to join in another fire.

Sorry we missed you both, but we certainly understand. Dare I say: We'll be hosting a Solstice Fire. We know you tend to have your own celebration for this, but if you can somehow join us for part of that day, wonderful. Otherwise, we hope to cross paths soon! -Larry

Abby, the town we launched from is Loreto. A lovely town. We all stayed in a hotel pre and post trekking to the coast is a bus and taking a boat to the island to be with the Whales.

Did you go to Magdalena Bay for the whale watching? We stayed in Puerto San Carlos for a few nights, which is on the bay. It is a nice village. Great shelling there, too! :)

The potluck was great. Lots of excellent food and congenial fellowship. I think the experience was somewhat different than most of the Sacred Fire meetups because we had to bring it inside due to rain... The essence of the fire keeper's path to equanimity and community was clearly stated, however, and appreciated by myself, and all who attended, I am certain.

Thanks to all who graciously switched gears to meet inside for the fire. I enjoyed getting to know you through your "ending up in Bend" stories. I wish you a heart-filled and fire-y weekend. Warmly, Jessica

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
