This class is designed for beginning TAI CHI students. The TAI CHI that I teach (Old Northern Yang Long Form) is for those who are moderately flexible or who wish to be vastly more flexible. It is an AEROBIC, expansive, powerful, slow moving exercise that cultivates health in all its aspects-- body, mind, and spirit.
Both Tai Chi and Chi Gong circulate energy throughout the body, unblocking stagnant energy, and focusing and restoring energy in the body's system. Chi Gong is easier for those who may be movement impaired OR who just want an easy, powerful exercise that covers major energy pathways in the body and cultivates health in all its aspects-- body, mind, and spirit. Movements are more easily memorized compared to Tai Chi but do not need to be memorized.
Regardless of which exercise you choose, when you practice together, you reap the benefits of everyone's energy. You will also experience a variety of different types of sitting meditations at the end of the class.
