Annual Talk on The Physics of Sailing

Irv Itzkan will give his annual talk on The Physics of Sailing this Thursday, June 27, at 6:30PM.

This talk will correctly describe how the wind drives a sailboat, and the various forces which affect sailboat performance. If someone once told you "it's Bernouilli's Principle", 1) you've been misled, and 2) you haven't learned anything you can use.

All are invited!

Dr. Itzkan has been a member of Community Boating for 42 years, and a laser physicist for even longer. He currently consults with a group at the Harvard Medical School doing research on medical applications of lasers and optics.

      Hi Priscilla, there is parking in a lot nearby, not right by the boathouse. You can park at the Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary at Charles Circle right by the Charles/MGH red line train station.
