First Coast Offshore Challenge

2014 marks the 10 year anniversary of the First Coast Offshore Challenge! Hosted by the North Florida Cruising Club and the St. Augustine Yacht Club this event runs from 2 - 5 April, 2014 in St. Augustine, FL.

These are the first of the 14 race offshore races. Schedule of events:



1 April - Skippers Meeting 7:30 pm, St. Augustine Yacht Club.  Scratch sheet posted on www.sailjax.com, FCOC Scratch Sheet.

2 April - Race 1. 0900 Round-the-Buoys Triangle off the St. Augustine Inlet.  Notice of Race posted on www.sailjax.com website. 



2 April - Dock Party - 1930 - Conch House Floating party dock, Conch House Marina. $25 if reservations made by 28 March via email to [masked] or $30 if no reservation made.  Payable by cash or check the night of the event.   Includes 2 beers, buffet (grilled flank steak, shrimp and grits, assorted vegetables, etc.



3 April - Race 2. [masked]-mile out-and-back course. Notice of Race posted on www.sailjax.com.   4 April - Brunch and Awards Party 1130 @ St. Augustine Yacht Club.

4 April - Race 3. Overnight from St. Augustine Sea Buoy to the St. John's Sea Buoy and back. Pursuit starts late afternoon. Start times posted on www.sailjax.com, (FCOC Race 3 start times)  



5 April - Trophy Awards Party. 1930. Dinner and Live Music by Les B Fine, St. Augustine Yacht Club. $20 if reservations made via email to guykanderson@attnet by 28 March or $30 if no reservations made.   Cash bar.  Menu details to follow. 







All proceeds from the FCOC go towards funding the FCOC Youth Sailing Scholarship Program that allows children ages 10 - 15 to attend a summer sailing camp in the north Florida area.

    Mirek, I am uncertain if you can copy pics we post for each Meetup but if you can and people will upload their pics, that would work. I'll contact Steve to see if there is a way to utilize the website for that.

    We had the best weather ever! Is there any way that we can have a site where people could upload pictures? That way we could share the boat pictures others took of us and vice versa.
