What we’re about

The awesome boat we have been going out on was sunk by hurricane Harvey.
Now we will be sailing on a more awesome yacht. The Yankee Clipper is a 46 foot Fisher, a cutter rigged ketch, which means it has two forward sails and two main sails.
I brought Yankee Clipper to Kemah from Fort Lauderdale in December with a 3 person crew.
We had the time of our lives.
We sailed 1200 miles across the Gulf of Mexico in 8 days averaging 8.4 knots.
Anyone interested in a stress free experience that sailing a vintage boat can facilitate should come join the fun. We will meet at the boat which is in slip 66 of West dock at Legend Point. The gate code is #1166 . Go left after entering the gate and park as far down as possible. Take the stairs down to the pier and go left. Keep walking until you see the most beautiful sailboat in Texas (slip 66) and you have reached Yankee Clipper.

Those who are interested in learning to sail will be forced into conscripted labor like raising sails, grinding, tacking, jibing and other nautical terms.

This will be approximately a 4 hour sail, if no one is on a schedule we may go longer if we have favorable winds.

Bring finger foods and your beverage of choice and prepare to have a blast. Those interested in learning to sail will gain first hand knowledge in setting and trimming sails, reading the wind, steering with one hand while balancing a beverage in the other, laughing till your jaw aches while maintaining a course, navigation and napping. This event is for adults and well behaved children 9 years old and up. We will sail out into Galveston bay following the wind to either Hartman Bridge or toward redfish island. Suggested donation is $30 per person. BYOB and finger foods. There is a head (enclosed private toilet) and running water. All required coast guard approved safety equipment is on board. The captain has 40 years of experience sailing these waters without a single casualty.
