Build An App - Part 1

This will be a multiple meetup event. Over the next few meetups, we will dive into sails and go through the process of developing an application. This application is not yet known. We will make a vote on the top 3 submission ideas at the first meetup. If you have an idea for an app you would like to see built with Sails.JS, Please comment on this post with it.

Hope to see you there.

Remote users will be able to join us with the following google hangout.

Do you guys have a French native to help with the French version? Unless you do I would be interested.

I just need some pointers. Is there a doc with the English commands I can translate or do we typically proceed otherwise?

We have internationalization built-in, but the biggest language gap is in translating the documentation, I reckon. It's at https://github.com/bal...

Hello. This is a cool idea. I would like to join the team to work on making the app available in several languages, English and Spanish could be a start.

Agustin, sounds great! Maybe start with Spanish since Max is doing French?

Any chance these meetups can be video'd and posted online? I'd love to learn more, just can't drive to Texas that nite :)

I'll definitely film my next speaking engagement, and if you guys find that having the hangouts recorded would help, I'm happy to. I know Carlo de Celico was discussing setting up an NYC sails.js meetup as well

great, if he can schedule them around the same time, we can probably do a hangout thing with them too

How about a replacement for Google Reader?
I wrote a (basic) front-end with sails for the sails hackathon (before they announced the shutdown).
You can check out what I wrote here: http://zfeed.zolmeister.com
and the repo is here: https://github.com/Zolmeister/ZFeed

Hi Zolmeister, sounds like a good plan.
But there was no shutdown! Where'd you hear that?

You were actually one of the winners :) We've been waiting on getting the prizes from Interact so we could hand them out.

Zolmeister, Now that google has officially announced its shutdown of the porject, that may very well be a viable project. We would definately look into what you worked on and see if we can indeed improve upon it if we chose as a group this app

Actually, I have an app that needs built. I've got the interface essentially done. It's a HUGE moneymaker. Before we proceed, everybody signs a NDA - then I present, we team up, & take it to investors.

Roger, i'll be more than happy to bring this offline and discuss this with you, however the purpose of this meetup is more for developing as an open community and learning the framework. I don't want to scare off users with NDA's and such.
