Below you will find a description of what we do!
All About UsMothers and Others is a non profit group helping each other navigate through life. We strive to help the mothers in our community as well as the members of our group. Whether it is through community service and support, a way to further yourself spiritually, a fun social outlet, affordable child care once a month, or a place for home businesses to advertise, we are here to help!
WHAT DO WE DO?We have monthly meetings in the morning and evening with guest speakers that pertain to our journey through motherhood or do a craft or other fun project. We also have social events, game nights, perform charitable acts and much more! Our Spiritual committee plans Bible studies, Prayer meetings, and other fun events to help further your spiritual life.
WHAT KIND OF SOCIAL EVENTS?We have activities for moms with kids of all ages! We offer Mom's Night Out, Bunco, Book Club, and Parents Night Out. We also offer play groups for all ages where life-long friendships are formed among kids and moms.
WHAT FAMILY EVENTS DO YOU HAVE?We host various family centered events every year. Our year will kick off with a fun family event. We encourage the kids to be involved with charitable events and giving back to the community. In addition, we have Trunk or Treat - a fun filled Halloween event and Breakfast with Santa. All raise money for charities and to keep the group running. As a non profit group, we do ask members to volunteer during events to keep our fees and activity costs low, so we can provide more for our charities.
DO YOU OFFER BABYSITTING?
As a member of our group you can attend morning meetings with free babysitting. All of our sitters are background checked and Safe Environment cleared. You will get a profile of our sitters in your welcome packet. We also host Kids Play Dates and Parents Night Out events for a fee.
No. Anyone can join even though we are a Catholic group. We have over 60 members from all over the DFW metroplex belonging to various religions. Our group is very understanding and respectful to all religions.
WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP DUES?We collect $40 for the year in September. Members who join after January will owe $25 for dues. Kids Play Day and Parents Night Out are all paid for separately. Payment is required to be part of Meetup or on our private Facebook page. You can contact an organizer to attend a free meeting prior to joining if you want to see what it is all about first.
ARE THERE OTHER REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN THE GROUP?In an effort to provide the safest environment for our own children and the children in the community, all members of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Mothers and Others group will be Safe Environment cleared. At Safe Environment training we learn what it takes to look out for possible child abuse or inappropriate behavior around children and use this knowledge to keep the children in our group and the greater community protected. This training deepens our mission to help all mothers in whatever way we can.
