I am hoping to find a community of poets who will help me find my way, poetically speaking. In return, I hope to become better at helping others with improving their poems. Poetry is a huge mystery to me. I write from emotion and feeling, and have a problem with the analytical and structural aspects of poetry. I hope I can contribute some helpful comments to the proceedings.
I have no specific ideas, other than to feel out the group, and find my place within it. I want to listen with acuity, and offer whatever insights my 59 year old male brain can add to the perspectives of the others in the group. I want to share my honest, heartfelt thoughts with the group in the hope of enlightening them in some small way, and being enlightened in turn by their comments and critiques. I hope we can be a good fit.
Hi everyone, I am a computer buffoon, and feel extremely fortunate to have somehow stumbled upon your group. I grew up in the D.C. area, but have lived in St. Paul since '93. I have loved poetry since my early 20's, but my disjointed nature fails me
I had a very good time at my first meeting, and enjoyed the balance between social and scholastic. It's always nice to jump inside each other's brains and check things out without ever being too caustic or critical, but hopefully helpful and supportive.
