Saint Paul Art Crawl - Drinks & Art!

Like drinks? Like art? Like to support our local art community? This is the perfect event for you!

The word ''Art'' is an all encompassing word used for everything that the artists in Lowertown create to display and sell at the St. Paul Art Crawl: paintings / drawings / photography / glass / pottery / wood work / jewelry / collectibles / decorations / clothing accessories / anything that their imagination can dream up.

Here's the plan. We meet at Christos in Union Depot around 5-5:30 for drinks (look for the Meetup signs) then crawl from there. I've been advised (thanks Sebastian!) that last year some of the buildings have small wine and cheese tastings and/or live music, and there will be fire spinning after dark (around 8ish) in front of Black Dog Cafe.

For those that want to join but can't until later, the link for the Art Crawl is http://www.stpaulartcrawl.org/about. Here you'll find information regarding the various locations and I'll do my very best to keep up with the posts on the Meetup site so please message me or post a comment on this event if you're trying to find us!

After we're done crawling we may very well be found at a bar in Lowertown! I'll post when we get wherever that is and drop a sign on the table(s). Hope you can join us, it should be a great night!

**If Friday night doesn't work for you but you still want to check out the Art Crawl it also runs through the weekend, Saturday 12-8 and Sunday 12-5.

It was a fun, low-key evening out with really nice people. Had a good time with good company!

I just learned there are some road closures this weekend in St. Paul. DON'T let this stop you from heading down to the Crawl! Below are some simple alternative directions for you.

    Road closures:

Both directions of I-94 will be closed EAST of downtown St. Paul from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Westbound I-94 will be closed between Hwy 61 and I-35E
Eastbound I-94 will be closed between I-35E and Mounds Blvd.

    Detours:

Heading east on 94? Exit on 5th street and follow 5th east into Lowertown. Take a left on Broadway and find parking.

Heading west on 94? Follow Hwy 61 south to Warner Road and go right. Follow Warner road to Sibley and go right. Take your first right on Kellogg. Take a left on Broadway and find parking.

My groups are meeting around 5-5:30 at Christos inside union depot, I'll have some meetup signs on our tables so everyone can find us. But we could always hit black dog at some point too since there are displays in that building. I'm excited for tmrw!

Not sure how big my "group" will be. If it's just me and a friend or two, we'll just join you guys whenever we can. :) We'll see what the day brings. It's going to be fun, though!
